Biography
Kayla Jane Richards was born May 15th 1993 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Meridith Richards, a single mother. Her mother had met her father while attending college where she was training to become a journalist. Her mother and father had dated off and on for a few years prior to conceiving Kayla. Shortly after her conception her parents split. Her mother had no idea that she was with child and had no idea of how to get a hold of and approach the father to let him know that she was carrying.
When Kayla was two years old, she and her mother moved to Ohio where her mother met and married her now step father. She was too young to realize that this man was not the one who made her. When she came to the age where curiosity got the best of her she began to poke around in her mothers belongings and found out that a man named Evan Lander was her father. A wave of emotions came over her and she asked her mother questions that she was unable to answer.
Meridith's mental health began to deteriorate, Kayla's stepfather knew that she shouldn't be around her mother the way she is. He began searching out her father for her with the help of her mother, when she was at her best as well as his sister. They were only able to get a hold of him a few times and found that he and his family members were residing in Chicago.
Kayla packed up her belongings and hopped on a Greyhound and made her way to Chi-Town, being smart enough to keep her cell phone near by and have the page from the white pages that she had ripped out of a phone book that was at her local library. It was the page that had a listing of Landers. She was determined to locate her father in any way that she could.
